Sometimes I feel like there are two kinds of people in this world, those who LOVE Disney, and those who don’t. I don’t always get what makes it so polarizing, but most of the time people seem to have fairly strong opinions of the company. Full disclosure, we are definitely in the pro Disney camp. While we are not as all-out die-hard fans as some, we did get married at Disney World in Orlando (see pic below), so by default that puts us pretty high on the Disney Fan rank list, right?
With that being said, when we found out we were moving to Japan, Tokyo Disney was pretty high on our immediate must do list. Along those lines, we didn’t really waste much time before making our first trip to the parks. We first visited in September 2017, only a month after we first arrived. We took advantage of some vacation days that would soon go to waste to spend two week-days in the parks. We had an absolute blast as a family, even though Miles was a few centimeters too short to ride some of the bigger rides. We harnessed that disappointment to ensure he ate his veggies for the next 14 months, and once he finally hit the magical 117cm cutoff, we made our second visit in just in time for Christmas December 2018.
If you live within a few hours of Tokyo and have kids, the parks are (no surprise) extremely well done, clean, and organized. That feeling that you are in the happiest place on earth is definitely still there – even if you are 5,498 miles from the birthplace of Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Most of our helpful Disney information doesn’t really fit in our typical multi-day trip itinerary format, so we decided drop our photo gallery here and write the rest up in a blog post instead.
